The kitchen refurbishment project that we will see today is part of a larger operation involving an entire building dating back to the early 1900s. The new household needs of a family in the region of Trentino led to the reorganization of the living area interiors in 2021, which have now been unified into a space combining the kitchen and lounge.
The furnishing assignment was awarded to Cova Cucine, an Italian company with a long tradition of custom-made kitchens. Stone Italiana was approached for the production of the countertop cladding, backsplash and the surface of the center island, for a kitchen with a modern yet cozy design.
The cladding selected comprised Stonit quartz surfaces from the Graniglio collection, in the color Graniglio Bianco (White) and in gloss finish. The coarse grain on the surfaces and the presence of natural quartz grain inserts – intrinsic features of the collection – blend perfectly with the warmth of the oak used as a shelf, which extends for the entire length of the 4-meter wall. The entire space is defined by a neutral palette. Every single detail, every element contributes to a sense of continuity: the back wall with the sink, and the cooktop, for example, feature white base units with tops and back panels in Graniglio Bianco, and likewise on the center island.
This open-space kitchen, flooded with light, was created to combine looks and style with the practicality of the various spaces: the incredible technical qualities of Stonit quartz surfaces (durability, stain-resistance and hygiene) together with ease of maintenance make this an optimum interior design choice for cladding the surfaces of a room such as a kitchen.
