A green kitchen in Cosmolite®

Project

Sky and Earth meet in the Starblack kitchen top

Elegant and functional, and now sustainable: the kitchen takes inspiration from contemporary architectural trends without sacrificing comfort, space, ease of movement and a choice of materials made with sensitivity to the environment and the health of those who create and process them.

Designed to furnish a private residence in the Verona area, this kitchen project in Cosmolite, the Materia Nuova (New Material) by Stone Italiana, brings the deep black of space and the brilliance of constellations to Earth, in the form of these high-tech slabs consisting of 100% pre-consumer mineral aggregates.

For the kitchen, the KStar collection was selected, in the Starblack hue with Grain finish for the worktop, kitchen countertop, backsplash and cupboard doors. The result? A total-look on a black base punctuated by countless white inserts that, when seen from a distance, create an random graphic pattern of shades and color, referencing the natural element from which the collection draws its inspiration: the Cosmos.

The design is completed by the integrated sink countertop.

The texture of K-Star, featuring a slightly larger grain size than the other collections, is widely used in kitchen design projects, as it perfectly complements a modern or more classical style, by means of its comprehensive color palette: a range that runs from black, to white, to gray, accommodating a hint of color and a visual reference to the “green” and sustainable nature of the Cosmolite brand with Stargreen.

This aesthetic versatility gives the architect ample opportunity for expression in compliance with the Leed criteria required for environmentally-sensitive designs, the ideal response to the design flexibility, technical performance and sustainability that today’s interior design world demands.

Used as countertop and backsplash, Cosmolite‘s K-Star collection totally fulfills the requirements of durability, hygienic safety and ease of maintenance and cleaning.

Cosmoliteslabs, like all Stone Italiana materials, have the NSF/ANSI Std. 51 FOOD ZONE quality mark, certifying its suitability for contact with food products.
