There is a Made in Italy signature in the new Dubai Metro, the major transport link built for Expo 2020.
Stone Italiana supplied cladding for the engineered quartz flooring in the seven stations on the line, for a total of 45,000 square metres. A unique order, in terms of volume and appearance: the Custom collection was in fact made in specially-prepared colors, a combination of 23 bespoke hues with Gloss finish.
The collection was further enhanced by the inclusion of quartz slabs processed using waterjet cutting.
Considering that the Road Transport Authority, which commissioned the project, estimated traffic at about 35,000 passengers per day, the engineered quartz flooring panels by Stone Italiana have proved to be the ideal solution, combining contemporary looks with practical requirements for areas with high pedestrian footfall.
The product is halmarked by a highly advanced manufacturing process, with meticulous quality control, in order to create quartz flooring particularly suitable for challenging and specialized uses, such as public locations and retail spaces.
Stone Italiana’s collections are made using composite materials based primarily on quartz, blended with other materials of various granulometric dimensions, organic pigments and structural polyester resin. The latter ingredient, in addition to acting as a binder, also gives the finished products optimum values of resistance to distortion and impact, with physical parameters and performance exceeding those of the initial natural materials.
