Three examples of Italian excellence highlighting the “Made in Italy” concept the world over: Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas designed the Armani Store in New York and chose engineered quartz by Stone Italiana for floors, wall cladding and stairs.
Located in the centre of New York City, on one of the world’s most famous streets, the design takes up the first three floors of two buildings located on the super-central 5th Avenue and 56th Street.
The showroom, which is developed on four levels plus a basement floor, is designed as a unitary interior without any evident separations, a fluid space linked by the force generated by the vortex of the staircase.
And it is this feature, together with the floors, that represents the most important operation in which Stone Italiana has been involved, the production of bespoke slabs for a true design jewel representing the heart of the project.
In fact, the staircase is conceived as a completely independent element that is hard to describe in terms of a simple geometric figure, giving rise to a powerfully dynamic vortex around which the different levels hosting the world of Armani are developed.
Stone Italiana was also chosen to supply quartz slabs for the designer’s own-brand stores in Tokyo, Brussels, Sydney and many other flagships around the world.
